Barbara Smyth, IDC, LEED AP

Barbara Smyth IDC, LEED AP, is an award-winning interior designer with over 30 years of experience

in the design and construction industry. She founded VOD Smyth Interior in 2008 and Plan Bleu Architecture + Interior Inc. in 2010, establishing herself as a respected leader in the field. Her work spans Canada, the United States, and Japan, reflecting the international reach of her design expertise. Barbara’s style combines timeless elegance, vibrant color, and refined detail, with each project tailored to her clients’ needs and identity.

Specializing in corporate and medical design-build, she delivers the highest quality construction from start to finish, ensuring every space is completed with precision, functionality, and lasting value.

Barbara is dedicated to mentoring the next generation of interior designers.

Originally from Quebec, Pierre Guimond graduated from the UBC Schoold of Architecture in 1988. He co-founded Plan Bleu Architecture+Interior Inc. in 2010. Pierre and Barbara worked together for over a decade, collaborating on several successful projects. Pierre has designed various commissions including office buildings, commercial and industrial upgrades, care facilities, multifamily projects, and affordable housing. Pierre is certified as LEED Energy in Environmental Design, is a member of Passive House Canada and a member of the Architectural Institute of British Columbia. He is very knowledgeable about the BC Building Code and local approving authorities. His goals are to promote peace, happiness, and the construction of a space that is in harmony with its natural and social environment.
